Answer: That’s a good question. It is true that G-d has no human emotions, but the commentators explain that the Torah uses human emotions and physicality (such as G-d took the Jews out of Egypt with an outstretched arm and strong hand) in order for human beings to get a better understanding. We can’t understand bringing a plague or hurting somebody without any feelings of anger, so the Torah employs that idea in relation to G-d to help us understand it better, although, of course, G-d does not get angry.He punishes for the purpose of rectifying the sin, but we get a better image in our mind when we hear that the sin “angers” G-d.
