Torah - The Oldest One

I’m in a Forum organized by a certain professor . A direct confrontation with him arose concerning the subject : what is the original Torah and which is the oldest – our Torah in Hebrew or the Septuaginta and Vulgata or the Masoretic Bible (from the word masoret – a Bible which , according to the Professor , is older than the Septuaginta and Vulgata and is used by the orthodox Christians)

I told him that the Bible in Hebrew is the oldest, the one which was written more
than 3000 years ago and from which all the others were written. The Profesor thinks differently “Your Bible is a translation of Septuaginta and Vulgata and is less than 900 years old,” he said. Please tell me what do you think about this subject.

There is no question that he is wrong. You can prove it to him very simply. We have pieces of Torah scrolls written in Hebrew that date back over 2000 years. What does he do with those pieces of scroll? I am not only talking about the Dead Sea Scrolls, but actual Torah scrolls as well.
