Mixtures of Crops

Question

What are the laws about mixtures of crops?

Answer

Different kinds of food crops must not be planted in such a way that they grow mixed together (Yoreh Deah Sec.291). Grain or vegetables must not be planted next to grape vines (Sec.296), but they can be planted next to other types of trees, and different types of trees can be planted next to each other (Sec.295).
