Plague of the First Born

Question

Why is the Plague of the First Born males referred to as “makas b’choros” (i.e. feminine form) since it was the first born Egyptian MALES who were killed?

Answer

Everywhere in the Torah and I think in Tanach, the plural of b’chor is b’choros. It’s actually not too uncommon in Hebrew that the apparent gender of the plural does not match the singular.
