Why do Hasidic wives and children walk behind their husband and father?
Answer
I’ve never seen Hasidic children walk behind their father on purpose. Most Hasidic women also walk together with their husbands as well. The few women that don’t, do so for modesty reasons. I think it’s because any public signs of affection (even walking together) aren’t shown, it is saved for the privacy of their own home. As I wrote, most Hasidim don’t have this custom.
