I stumbled upon this site attacking the Tanakh, and these are some verses, if you could check, I’d like to get explanations/interpetations I know when ppl attack the torah they take it TOTALLY out of context. But these are still interesting verses.
Toda rabba!
Deuteronomy 28:53-57: 53: “You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you” (what is the fruit of our own body, and the flesh of our sons and daughters?)
Genesis 19:30-38: How Lot’s daughters sleep with him to carry the line
Yes, the Torah in Deuteronomy is detailing the extent of our desparation in times of persecution that we could resort to such cannibalism if that was going to be the only way to survive. The verse does not mean that everyone will stoop to this but only indicates that the threatened persecution will be so serious that such an act could be considered.
Before the Torah was given on Sinai there was not a ban on marriage between men and their daughters. Despite this, society did not approve of such arrangements which is why Lot would not have agreed and had to be plied with alcohol. Lot’s daughters were not concerned only with their own line. They thought that the entire world had been destroyed and the three of them were the only survivors.
