Who created G-d?

Question

Who created G-d?

I got into a conversation wtih one of my coworkers and said I am not sure sometimes that there is a G-d. He pointed out the following example and I believe he convinced me for sure that there is a G-d. I have always beleive in G-d but always had doubts. Here is the example he gave me:

If you start with the question who created G-d and et’s say the answere is “Z” who created G-d, who created “Z”? let’s say “Y” etc., when you get to the letter “A” who created A? No one you have to have something that had a beginning. Therefore, G-d exists.

Please elaborate on this theory and explain.

thank you

Answer

I would certainly agree with the point that your co-worker is making. Ultimately, even if one were to believe fully in the current scientific thinking about evolution and the bing bang theory, the question remains “Why was there a big bang?” What banged? Why should something ever have gone bang? Where did this all occur? Science cannot answer any of these questions, it can only observe and report on what it sees.
As you said, ultimately you have to come to God. To understand that there is a force behind all of this which we do not comprehend or see fully.
