A Blessing for Charity?

Question

Dear Rabbi,

Is there a brocha (a blessing to recite) for giving charity?

At the moment I say “shekideshanu… vetzivanu letet tzdaka.”

Answer

We do not make any beracha (blessing) on giving charity. All agree to this but there
is discussion as to the reason for it. Some say it is because the person
receiving the charity can refuse to take it and therefore the blessing
would be in vain. Even when one is certain that the recipient will not refuse a
blessing would not be said because the mitzvah has to be in your hands
100%.
All the best,
Rabbi Yirmiyahu Benyowitz
