Will the Messiah be the head of the Sanhedrin?

Maimonides (Melachim Ch.11) says that the Messiah will restore the Davidic kingdom and rebuild the Temple, and that the laws that have lapsed will be reestablished in his time. This implies that the Sanhedrin will be reestablished. The Nesi’im, who were descended (on the female side) from David, were heads of the Sanhedrin, so it seems likely that the Messiah will be at its head, if he’s qualified for the position.
