Question
Does G-d give us signs to show us how we should decide things in life, or are we on our own for the most part?
Answer
I know that G-d sometimes does give people signs, and there are a number of stories about them. Whatever helps a person in his service to G-d is worthwhile. Still, most of the time we don’t understand things that clearly. It’s really more important to choose based on what we know is right, and to try to determine what is right by studying the Torah or asking those who are experts in it. That’s not anything murky or cloudy; there G-d told us exactly how he expects us to use our free choice, and we should focus ourselves on what we know rather than what we guess.
