When we stop blowing the Shofar

Question

What day this year do you stop blowing the shofar – in the morning before Rosh Hashanah? Do you also blow the shofar between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur every morning? I understand that you do not below the shofar on Saturday’s.

Answer

This Friday morning is the day before Rosh Hashana (called erev Rosh Hashana) and the shofar is not blown. You are correct that there is no shofar blowing on the first day of Rosh Hashana this year because it is Shabbos (Saturday). There is no shofar blowing at all after Rosh Hashana except for the final blast at the end of Yom Kippur.Have a happy and meaningful sweet new year.
