The notion that Jesus died for our sins is based on the sacrifice system and sacrifice is atonement of sin. What’s your opinion? Isn’t the sacrificial system, mentioned in many chapters of Torah, more important or valid than other duties of religion like prayers, fasts, charity, etc.? What do you do now that the Temple is destroyed?
The sacrifices were not just offered for penitence. And, in fact, most sins never had a sacrifice appropriate for them! So of course the Jewish view is that the idea of a human sacrifice taking the role of animals and then atoning for all sin — it is not at all what we understand the Torah to tell us.
Even King Solomon, when he dedicated the Temple, called upon G-d to accept the sincere repentance and prayers of those far away.
Our obligation is to do all the Commandments that we can — and to ask G-d’s forgiveness when we fail — but it is not held against us that we did not perform a Commandment that we were not in a position to perform!
I hope this helps.
