Dear Rabbi,
I need to know the answer to two questions :
1. Is The New moon a Day of Rest refraining from work?
2. Is there any possible future fulfillment of a Sabbath Rest on the New Moon?
As Ezekiel speaks of the gates being open on the New moon day as well as people bowing before Hashem on the New moons and on the Sabbath. Thank You in advance for your reply.
Answer
Women have a custom to not do certain household chores on the New Moon. Otherwise there is no restriction on work. An additional sacrifice is brought on New Moons and that is what Ezekiel is referring to.
