Evidence and Mohammad

Question

What is the Jewish view of the authenticity of Islam? What does the Holy Torah says about this religion?

Answer

We don’t have such documents, but we feel logically that believing in Mohammad is in the same category as believing in Jesus – where’s the evidence? Jews do not, and have never, taken a leap of faith. If someone tells you to believe, ask him “why?” What’s the evidence? Lots of people have claimed they have the word of God – what’s the evidence? 3,300 years ago the entire Jewish People stood at Mt. Sinai and heard the word of God. That word has been transmitted through 110 generations until today. Christianity and Islam spread by conquest. To believe in Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc you have to believe in the claims of one person. To believe in Judaism you have to believe your parents.
