A friend of mine says that the first sentence in Genesis mentions the first personality of G-d. G-d has three personalities, Lord, My Lord G-d and and the spirit, which is mentioned many times in the torah. Is this true?
It is also true that God presents Himself with different character traits. We know that God has different names in the Torah. The reason for this is that He is not only the God of mercy, but He is also the God of Judgment and truth. Since God can come forth using various character traits, so His name reflects what character trait is being exhibited at that moment. I hope that this is helpful to you. If you are interested and want to learn more about this subject I highly suggest that you purchase the Artscroll Torah. This translation comes with an amazing commentary and explanation about the text. If you want to get it you can go to this link.
Be Well,
