Someone has told me that there are always 36 righteous Rabbis scattered throughout the Earth. Is this statement true. If yes, do they know each other? Are they known as Rabbis?
Answer
There is a tradition that there are 36 hidden tzaddikim (righteous men) upon whom the world depends. But by definition we don’t know who they are, or even if they all know of each other.
