I was just looking at a web site that stated to become a jew I would need to go to a court to convert. Is that true? I am interested in following Judaism but I am curious as to how I must go about doing that.

The Court being referred to is an Ecclesiastical Court not a State or Federal Court of Justice. The Ecclesiastical Court, known in Hebrew as a Beth Din, is made up of three rabbis who will determine whether the person desiring to be Jewish is knowledgeable in basic Jewish thought and practice and that the person is sincere in their commitment to being a Jew.
