Could you please explain psalms 51:10?
Tehilla (Psalm) 51 is the lament of Dovid Hamelech (King David) over what transpired with Bathsheva and Uriah. The sins that Dovid is accused of never happened. There was no adultery and there was no murder. Dovid Himself makes this clear in Tehilla 51 in Verse 6, where Dovid states that his sin is ONLY to G-d, not to Bathsheva, and not to Uriah.
G-d tells us what Dovid’s sin was in 2Shmuel (Samuel) 12:12, that Dovid acted secretly. That is, Bathsheva (who was divorced) should have been married to Dovid openly, and Uriah (who was treasonousin Dovid’s army), should have been handled differently and openly.
When you are G-d’s closest emissary on Earth, everything must be done out in the open. Secrets become the weapon for scandalous lies and blasphemy. Nasan’s conversations with Dovid was about just this, whatthe people were perceiving and saying, not what had actually occurred.
The horror which has come from this, now going on 3,000 years, is what Dovid is grieving over. He knew he could have prevented it all, by acting in the open.
Now Verse 10, which you asked about, should make more sense, as Dovid struggles and prays that G-d will restore him both physically and spiritually to the man he used to be.
