Funeral on Purim

Question: Can you do a funeral on Purim?

Answer: According to the Talmud in tractate megilla, not only must one perform a funeral on Purim, but it even takes precedence over reading the Megillas Esther (or hearing it). However, eulogies are forbidden on Purim (except for a Torah sage in the presence of his body). The conspicuous mourning practices do not apply on Purim, e.g. sitting on low stools and not wearing shoes, however private mourning practices do apply.

I’m not sure of the context of the question. If it is based on something that has just happened, I defer to the authority of the local Rabbi.
