Question: Where and when was the first Torah written? In what form? Did Moses write the Torah in the form of a diary of events as they happened?

Answer: There are two different opinions in the Talmud. One is that the Torah was written piece by piece. That is, Moses wrote down each section of the Torah as it was given to him and Israel till the whole thing was complete. The other is that it was only written at the very end, when Moses was ready to finish it and give it to the Levites for safekeeping, and to put it in the ark along with the two tablets of the covenant. In any event, the words of the Torah were already taught to Israel as the events occurred; the only question is whether they were written down.
