Kosher Chicken Eats Pig

Question: While we were away our neighbor gave our chickens some pig. Are we still allowed to eat the eggs? If not, for how long? Thank you for your time.

Answer: You are allowed to eat the eggs right away. Anything that a kosher animal eats, even if not kosher, is considered changed to kosher after the food digests. The only question that can arise is if the food has not been in the stomach long enough (sometimes three days) and one wants to eat the stomach contents.

All the best,
Rabbi Yirmiyahu Benyowitz
