Emotional Freedom Techniques and Jewish Law

Question: The technique of “tapping” used in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is claimed to release emotional and physical blocks. Is this acceptable in Jewish law?

Answer: I don’t see any problem with it. There are many alternative, holistic approaches to our body that our Western mind automatically rejects as “strange” and “unkosher”—yet we embrace ingesting drugs and medicines without thinking twice!I don’t see why this is any different from acupuncture.  Go for it!

[Editor – Please note that does not claim efficacy, or the lack thereof, of any Emotional Freedom Technique.  This post is simply clarifying whether or not Jewish law permits the utilization of EFT, for those who wish to use it.]
