Samson and the Donkey Jawbone

Question: Why did Shimshon (Samson) specifically use the jaw bone of a donkey to fight the Philistines. Was it considered a miracle. Why didnt he use a sword or weapons of war?

Answer: That’s an interesting question. In the simple understanding, I’d say that he had no other weapon available. He was being turned over to the Philistines – bound, weaponless and helpless. Truth is, throughout his career he made it a practice of “waging war” on his own, so that no one else in Israel should be implicated.

Thanks,
Michael
