Refunded Order That Was Delivered

Question: I ordered something online over a month ago. A month passed, I didn’t receive the delivery and when I called the company they gave me a refund assuming that the delivery got lost in the mail. Yesterday, more than 5 weeks after I ordered the product, it arrived in the mail. Am I now required to get in touch with them and pay for it again, or since they did not keep to their side of the bargain in getting it to me in a timely manner, and because they already refunded me, am I absolved from paying them?

Answer: Thank you for your question. It would be proper to inform them that the item came, and if they wish to get it back they should send you a postage paid return envelope. If they choose to allow you to keep it, this is obviously not a problem.

Take care,
Rabbi Aaron Tendler
