Rosh HaShanah

Rosh Hashana Greeting

Question: What is the proper greeting for Rosh Hashanah?

Answer: In the period of time leading up to Rosh Hashanah we typically wish each other that our being written and inscribed (i.e. in the Book of Life) be for the good. In Hebrew (Ashkenazic pronunciation) “K’siva v’Chasima Tova.” However, the most proper greeting is anyone which conveys a heartfelt wish of goodwill for our friends and loved ones for the coming New Year.

K’siva v’Chasima Tova,
R’ Daniel Fleksher
