Hi! I live in Israel, and have been asked to do the centerpieces for a wedding. I would like to use ivy that is growing in my garden, and would need to pick it right before the event. Is this a problem with shemitah?
Thank you for your question, and I wish you success on your upcoming job! There is no shemita problem with ivy, or any other plants that are non-fruit bearing and do not have a nice smell. This is presuming that they were not originally planted during shemita.
